High LDL, how to regulate and treat it

High LDL can be generally categorized into two ways: lifestyle intervention and drug treatment. For different comorbidities and complications, the population control goals are different, and the specific treatment plans are also different. 1. Lifestyle intervention: such as diet, exercise, etc. Diet should be low in salt and fat, and eat less cholesterol-rich foods such as fatty meat, animal offal, shellfish, egg yolks, etc. Appropriate exercise and weight loss can also help to reduce cholesterol levels. 2. Pharmacological treatment: It mainly includes statins such as atorvastatin and simvastatin, cholesterol absorption inhibitors such as ezetimibe, and PCSK9 inhibitors such as iloyuzumab, etc. According to the different conditions of the patients, they can choose single-drug or combined treatment. Lipid management strategies are different for patients with different conditions. For example, all patients with coronary heart disease or cerebral infarction should take lipid-lowering drugs regardless of whether LDL cholesterol is elevated or not; patients with diabetes mellitus whose LDL cholesterol is more than 2.6 mmol/L need to take lipid-lowering drugs; patients with diabetes mellitus combined with high blood pressure should be given drugs as long as it is more than 1.8 mmol/L. If the patient has high LDL cholesterol, it is recommended to go to the hospital for consultation and standardized treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
