Horn-eye, or inflammation of the eyelid gland, is caused by Staphylococcus aureus infecting the glands of the eyelid. In the early stages of horn-eye, local heat compresses can be applied 3-4 times a day for 10-15 minutes each time to promote blood circulation to the eyelid, relieve pain, and promote the reduction of inflammation. If the inflammation is severe, oral cephalosporin or amoxicillin antibacterial medications can be given to control the infection, and when an abscess forms, it can be removed at the hospital under local anesthesia.
