Adenoid cystic carcinoma is a basal-like cell tumor composed of epithelial and myoepithelial cells with different morphologic structures, such as tubular, sieve-like and solid. Adenoid cystic carcinoma accounts for about 10% of all salivary gland tumors. According to domestic data, adenoid cystic carcinoma is the most common malignant tumor of minor salivary glands, which is composed of epithelial cells and myoepithelial cells under the microscope and has different morphologic structures such as tubular and sieve-like and solid. I. Main etiologyAdenoid cystic carcinoma is a kind of basal cell-like tumor. Although it grows slowly, it often endangers patients’ lives due to its infiltrative growth. The etiology is unknown and may be related to the basal cells of oral mucosa. Adverse lifestyle and nuclear radiation may induce this disease. Second, predisposing factors 1, nuclear radiation: both human and animals have cancer-inducing effect, due to the role of suspected susceptibility to the human body, common leukemia and lymphoma after radiation therapy. 2, air pollution: it is also a disease-causing factor, such as soot pollution caused by high industrialization, microscopic stimulation in textile industry, and so on.
