How is a gastric ulcer diagnosed?

The preliminary diagnosis of gastric ulcer can be made based on its typical clinical manifestations, and the diagnosis can be confirmed by combining with what is seen in gastroscopy or barium X-ray meal examination. Fiberoptic gastroscopy has been popularized in China, and for those who are suspected of having gastric ulcer or those who are diagnosed with gastric ulcer by barium meal X-ray, gastroscopy should be routinely performed to confirm the diagnosis, and gastric mucosal tissue should be taken for pathological examination. Gastric ulcers mainly cause stomach pain and other discomfort, and the resulting stomach pain often occurs within one hour after a meal and disappears on its own before the next meal, in the upper middle abdomen or to the left, and may be accompanied by acid reflux, belching, nausea and vomiting. The diagnosis can be confirmed by gastroscopy. After the diagnosis, it is necessary to take relevant medications to treat the condition, and pay attention to regular diet, regular meals, no overeating, nutritious and easily digestible food, more vegetables and fruits, and avoid foods that stimulate the stomach as much as possible.
