In general, the usual recommended duration of treatment with omeprazole for duodenal bulb ulcers is 4 to 6 weeks. Helicobacter pylori infection is the main cause of duodenal bulbar ulcers, and a 2-week course of omeprazole is usually recommended if the drug is used for quadruple therapy. Omeprazole is commonly used to treat gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, reflux esophagitis, and gastrinomas. Adverse reactions such as dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, and rash may occur in some patients using omeprazole. It should be noted that the use of this drug is prohibited in patients who are allergic to omeprazole, people with severe renal insufficiency, pregnant women, lactating women and infants. Drugs need to be used under the guidance of a doctor, not blindly self-medication to avoid adverse effects.
