Why does gastric cancer recur after surgery?

At present, the most direct way to treat stomach cancer is to remove the diseased area surgically, but many patients will have a recurrence soon after the surgery. Some people can’t understand why the disease will recur since it has been removed. 1. Before receiving surgery, the patient already belonged to late stage of gastric cancer, so the tumor could not be removed radically during the surgery, and recurrence would occur soon. 2.Surgical treatment is not thorough enough. A few doctors only focus on the near-survival effect and do not reduce the scope of radical surgery for gastric cancer from the perspective of trauma, which will lead to recurrence of cancer. 3.Patients’ poor living habits, especially some dietary habits, think that they have completely recovered after surgery, so they often use some barbecue and spicy nitrite-rich foods, which rapidly induce the recurrence of gastric cancer. 4, not taking medicine on time. Although gastric cancer can be basically improved after surgery, it is recommended that patients still need to adhere to certain medication to enhance their immune ability and reduce the recurrence of gastric cancer.
