If a three-year-old baby has a blocked lacrimal gland for three years, the following measures can be used to deal with it. First, local massage can be performed by pressing the thumb on the root of the child’s nose and the inner canthus of the eye to massage the lacrimal gland and relieve the child’s blocked lacrimal gland. If the blockage of the lacrimal gland is so severe that local massage or hot compresses are not effective, surgical treatment should be applied in a timely manner. For example, children can be treated with lacrimal duct irrigation, lacrimal duct exploration, or lacrimal sac nasal anastomosis.
