Do plasters for rib fractures work?

Rib fracture plaster has a certain effect, the plaster has the function of activating blood and relieving pain and promoting local repair. However, this is mainly used for patients whose rib fracture injury is not particularly serious, especially if the rib fracture is not dislocated, for these fractures plasters are still more effective, together with oral blood-activating and pain-relieving drugs, such as San Qi injury tablets or bruises pills. If the rib fracture is crushed or displaced, accompanied by pulmonary contusion and pleural effusion, there is no obvious effect of plastering in this case, and it is better to wear a chest belt to limit the movement of the ribs. If there is fluid in the chest cavity, a closed chest drain can be used to drain the fluid. In case of multiple or multi-segment rib fractures with local instability, surgical plate fixation of the fracture is also required, and later, after the wound is dismantled, you can use the plaster with better effect.
