The pain time is within 24 hours after the numbing of the tooth extraction. Because of the trauma to the soft tissues, severe pain will occur within 24 hours, however, the pain will generally improve after 24 hours. If the alveolar bone is removed during the extraction process because of the complexity of the surgery, swelling of the face will occur after the extraction, and this swelling will reach its limit on the third day, which may cause restricted mouth opening and facial deformation. Therefore, patients do not need to worry too much. If unbearable pain occurs, they can take oral pain medication and anti-inflammatory medication for treatment.
