When using norepinephrine to treat upper gastrointestinal bleeding, it is usually prepared as an 8% norepinephrine solution, for example, using two injections of a total of 4 mg of norepinephrine added to 50 ml of chilled saline and chilled mineral water, so that the patient can take it orally or inject it into the gastric lumen through a gastrointestinal decompression tube. If a gastrointestinal decompression tube has been used, the drug should be administered after the accumulated blood in the gastric lumen has been fully aspirated, so that the norepinephrine solution can make full contact with the surface of the gastric mucosa, thus exerting vasoconstriction and achieving hemostasis. The frequency of use is usually once in 4 hours, taking 20-50ml of norepinephrine solution. In addition, if a bleeding lesion is found during gastroscopy, the 8% norepinephrine solution mentioned above can be sprayed directly on the surface of the lesion through the biopsy forceps channel of endoscopy with a clear visual field exposure to exert a good hemostatic effect.
