Drinking water intoxication is mainly caused by the patient after drinking a large amount of water, resulting in the body’s intake of water is greater than the amount of discharged, which leads to dilution of hyponatremia in the body. The usual symptoms are poor mental state, general weakness, dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, pale skin. If the patient has renal function problems, there will also be depressed edema of the limbs or both lower limbs, and in severe cases, there will be syncope. If it leads to cerebral edema, in addition to fainting, central respiratory failure may also occur, resulting in respiratory distress, or even respiratory arrest, leading to death. Dehydration is usually given immediately after water intoxication.
