1. Gingivitis and periodontitis: Gingivitis is mainly manifested as swelling and inflammation of the marginal area of the gums, periodontitis can probe the periodontal pockets, which can lead to swelling of one side of the gums during an attack. 2. In addition, in some patients with chronic apical periodontitis, a fistula can form at the root tip, manifesting as an abscess in the gums, requiring root canal treatment. Therefore, it is recommended that patients with inflammation of the gums go to a regular hospital as soon as possible, according to the condition of the symptomatic treatment.
