The former requires supragingival cleaning (scaling), while the latter requires periodontal sequential treatment, including basic periodontal treatment, periodontal medication, periodontal surgery and periodontal maintenance treatment.
2. Wisdom tooth pericoronitis: Most of the surfaces of the wisdom teeth are covered with gums, which are easy to cause inflammation due to food impaction and bacterial accumulation, and require antibiotics and other medications to control the inflammation quickly, such as cefprozil and metronidazole; and be extracted at a later stage after the symptoms are relieved.
In addition, in some patients with chronic apical periodontitis, a fistula can form at the root tip, manifesting as an abscess in the gums, requiring root canal treatment. Therefore, it is recommended that patients with inflammation of the gums go to a regular hospital as soon as possible, according to the condition of the symptomatic treatment.
