Dysfunctional uterine bleeding is abbreviated as gonorrhea. In Western medicine, gonorrhea is characterized by abnormal uterine bleeding due to abnormalities in the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, ovaries, and uterine axis, not due to organic lesions, and is divided into gonorrhea with ovulation and gonorrhea without ovulation according to the presence or absence of ovulation. Menorrhagia is a condition in which the menstrual cycle, period and volume of menstruation are severely disordered, and it refers to menstrual bleeding that does not stop or drips out of time. Characterized by disruption of the menstrual cycle and changes in the amount and nature of menstrual bleeding, gongbao can be categorized into several types: for example, scanty menstruation, irregular bleeding with a possible cycle of ≥40 days, often accompanied by excessive menstruation. Then there is frequent menstruation with a possible cycle of ≤21 days. This irregular bleeding is often accompanied by excessive menstrual flow. There is also excessive menstruation, which is simply excessive or accompanied by a prolonged period, and is the regular type of uterine bleeding. There is also the irregular type of heavy menstruation, which is characterized by irregular cycles and sometimes an increase in the amount of menstruation. There is also hypomenorrhea, in which the menstrual cycle is regular and the amount of menstruation is significantly reduced. Another manifestation is mid-menstrual bleeding, which refers to the dripping of menstrual bleeding in the middle of two periods during ovulation.
