AIDS is currently divided into three main phases, which include the acute infection phase, the asymptomatic phase and the AIDS phase. The so-called acute infection period refers to the period of 2-4 weeks after the first HIV infection. Patients mainly show flu-like symptoms, such as fever, cough, sore throat, skin rash, joint pains and other clinical symptoms. The patient then enters the asymptomatic phase, during which the patient does not experience any discomfort. After the asymptomatic phase, the patient enters the AIDS phase, where he or she will have prolonged hypothermia, wasting, chronic diarrhea, and various opportunistic infections, such as pulmonary infections and intracranial infections.
