Aerosols are gaseous dispersion systems composed of solid and liquid particles suspended in a gaseous medium. For novel coronaviruses, aerosols mixed with viruses may be produced when patients breathe, cough, speak, spit, vomit or urinate or defecate, and when medical examiners come into contact with samples of patients’ blood, urine and stool. Since aerosols can be dispersed in the air, they spread over long distances. Also novel coronaviruses are protected by a protein shell membrane, which can remain active for a considerable period of time, and when inhaled into the body infection may occur. Therefore, in order to prevent aerosol transmission, the following points need to be noted: 1. try to cancel social activities and gather with friends less often; 2. open windows to keep the air circulating; 3. disinfection should be done, door handles, tables, chairs or toilet seats are key disinfection parts, which should be wiped with disinfectant solution; 4. personal hygiene should be taken care of, wash hands before meals and after stools, use tissues to cover mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing; 5. Avoid contact with the body secretions of people with suspicious symptoms, do not share personal items, use common chopsticks, pay attention to meal sharing, and avoid shaking hands and hugging; 6. community personnel’s investigation and diagnosis.
