The CT value represents the density of the tissue in the lesion, with air-1000 Hu, bone-type tissue 1000 Hu, and water 0 Hu. Lung nodules larger than 100 Hu are considered benign. Whether a lung nodule is benign or not is not only related to its density, but also to its number, size, morphology, whether the border is clear, and whether there is any dynamic change.
1. If the chest CT suggests a single nodule, CT value is more than 100Hu, and less than 5mm, and the border is also relatively clear, no family history of tumor, can be given dynamic observation. 3 months after the resorption, suggesting the possibility of inflammation, if there is no obvious change, and then can be combined with the patient-specific circumstances of once a year to repeat the chest CT, to understand the situation of the lung nodule.
2. If chest CT suggests multiple nodules, or there are more than 5mm, and the border is unclear, CT value is less than 100Hu, we should pay close attention to it, and the volume and morphology of the nodules will be changed in the later period, and we should combine with the symptoms, signs, bronchoscopy and other comprehensive judgments, and we need to use ultrasound, CT-guided lung puncture to get the pathology for cytological examination for a definitive diagnosis.
Lung nodules should be examined and treated under the guidance of a thoracic surgeon.
