Halometasone is a strong glucocorticoid and is not easily used for more than three weeks at most. There are other treatments for vitiligo. If it is a medium-acting glucocorticoid hormone ointment, it can be used for four weeks; weak-acting glucocorticoid ointment is relatively safer and can be used for a short period of time over a larger area or for a long period of time. Weak-acting glucocorticoids are generally used on the face, perineum, mucous membranes or folds, and should not be used for a long period of time either, usually within two weeks. Vitiligo treatment includes repigmentation therapy such as narrow-wave ultraviolet light and psoralen plus phototherapy, oral and topical glucocorticoid therapy, topical topical immunosuppressants such as tacrolimus ointment, lasers and 308nm excimer lasers, depigmentation therapy, and psychotherapy. The specific treatment is in accordance with the doctor’s prescription.
