Checking gallbladder polyps requires fasting. The way to check gallbladder polyps is mainly through ultrasound of liver and gallbladder, and ultrasound of liver and gallbladder must be performed on an empty stomach, otherwise it is easily disturbed by the organism, and the diagnosis of the disease cannot be clarified and the imaging is not very clear. The biggest characteristic of ultrasound is that it is easily disturbed by gas, so gallbladder polyps must be examined on an empty stomach. Of course, CT and MRI also need to be done on an empty stomach. Because the gallbladder will contract after eating, the gallbladder wall will contract to a piece, and it will be difficult to distinguish whether it is a polyp or the gallbladder’s own crease. Therefore, it is important to perform the relevant imaging examinations in a state where the gallbladder is not significantly contracted on an empty stomach. If a gallbladder polyp is found to have a significant tendency to become cancerous, it should be promptly treated by surgery, which is usually a minimally invasive laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
