Ginseng can be used in the treatment of deficiency, cold limbs, weak pulse, deficiency of spleen with little food, deficiency of lungs with wheezing and coughing, deficiency of fluids with thirst, internal heat with thirst (internal heat with symptoms such as overeating, drinking and urinating), deficiency of qi and blood, weakness of long-term illness, palpitations and insomnia, impotence and uterine coldness. Six-flavored Dihuang Pill is composed of ripened dihuang, cornelian cherry, mudanpi, yam, poria, zedoary, with the effect of nourishing yin and tonifying the kidney, can be used for dizziness and tinnitus caused by kidney yin deficiency, lumbar and knee soreness and weakness, bone vaporization and tidal fever (a burst of heat, feel the heat from the bone to the outside through the heat), night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep, waking up sweating stops), spermatorrhea, and so on. The effects of ginseng and Liu Wei Di Huang Wan are not mutually exclusive and can be taken together. Because ginseng is more precious, it is usually decocted and taken separately, or it can be powdered and swallowed, and it should not be used with quatu, wulingzhi.
