There is no such herb as dicotyledonous lotus, only hemicotyledonous lotus. Hemicotyledonous lotus has the effect of clearing heat and removing toxins, and it is useful for treating snake and insect bites, sore throat and other illnesses.
It is the dried whole herb of the plant “half a branch of lotus” in the family of Labiatae. It is cold in nature, bitter and pungent in flavor, and its attributed meridians are the lung meridian, the liver meridian, and the kidney meridian.
