Scleroderma refers to a very hypertrophic rash with a thick, hard, scaly surface, usually referred to as common psoriasis. Initially, small papules may appear anywhere around the body, and then the papules gradually expand into patches, which then develop into harder, thicker plaques. The surface of the plaques is rough, with deepened furrows and elevated ridges, showing moss-like changes, and they can be covered with thick scales. The scales are sticky and not easy to scrape off, and they are accompanied by intense, itchy self-conscious symptoms.
