What’s wrong with your chest and ribs?

Swelling of the chest and ribs may be caused by diseases such as costochondritis, coronary heart disease and pleurisy.
1. Costochondritis: Costochondritis can be caused by trauma, infection and so on, which will lead to symptoms such as swelling and pain in the chest and ribs, and there is obvious pain at the rib cartilage.
2. Coronary heart disease: mainly caused by narrowing of coronary artery, myocardial ischemia, insufficient oxygen supply, etc. When coronary artery spasm occurs, it will easily appear symptoms such as swelling of chest ribs and chest tightness.
3. Pleurisy: when pleurisy has inflammatory exudate in the lower edge of the chest cavity causing pressure on the lung tissue, it will produce chest rib distension, chest tightness and so on. Moreover, under the stimulation of inflammation in the pleural cavity, pleural effusion is easy to appear, which is manifested as pain in the chest and ribs, dyspnea, fever and so on.
