Cooked Horseshoe is processed and concocted from the Chinese medicine water chestnut. Cooked water chestnut has the effects of clearing heat and cooling blood (relieving blood heat by clearing heat), resolving phlegm, eliminating accumulation and removing cataracts, and is often used in treating thirst, jaundice, plaques, redness of the eyes, sore throat, and warts (a kind of sarcoma that grows on the skin). Cooked horseshoe is sweet in taste, cold in nature, and enters the lung, stomach and liver meridians. It has the efficacy of clearing heat and cooling blood, resolving phlegm, eliminating accumulation and removing cataracts, and is used in treating thirst, jaundice, feverish drenching, lumps and accumulations, redness of the eyes and throat, and warts (sarcoma growing on the skin). The adverse effects of cooked horseshoes are not clear. People with deficiency of cold and blood should be cautious of using cooked horseshoes. At present, this drug has not been included in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, if there is a need for medication, it is recommended to use it under the guidance of a professional physician, do not blindly self-medication.
