Abdominal pain after strenuous exercise can be due to physiological reasons, mainly including improper exercise, large amount of sweating without timely hydration and so on. Pathologic causes mainly include intestinal torsion, intussusception and other conditions.
1. Physiological factors:
(1) Improper exercise: for example, no preparation before exercise, too much exercise, no timely relaxation after exercise, etc. If a large number of strenuous exercise, the body’s blood supply will give priority to the skeletal muscles, the heart, etc., and the gastrointestinal blood will be relatively reduced, which triggers gastrointestinal smooth muscle spasms occurring in abdominal pain.
(2) a lot of sweating without timely hydration: a lot of sweating after strenuous exercise, sweat contains a lot of salt, a large number of loss and not timely replenishment, can lead to the loss of electrolytes in the body, triggering muscle spasms, a small number of people will appear abdominal pain.
2. Pathologic causes:
(1) Intestinal torsion: the causes are complicated, such as intestinal collaterals are too long, mesenteric adhesion, full meal, strenuous exercise, sudden bending, etc. The patient’s intestines may rotate along a certain fixed point, and intestinal torsion occurs, which will be manifested as abdominal pain after strenuous exercise.
(2) Intussusception: it mostly occurs in children under 2 years old, and is related to intestinal peristalsis disorder, tuberculosis, adhesion, tumor and other factors. As the colon is thicker and the ileum is thinner, it is easy for the ileum to collapse into the colon during strenuous exercise, which can be manifested as abdominal pain after strenuous exercise.
Post-exercise abdominal pain needs to be taken seriously, if the symptoms continue to be unrelieved, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time.
