Orthodontic initial orthodontic appliance precautions

Because the current aligners are glued to the teeth by adhesive technology, so the first wear aligners after the first thing to note in terms of eating is not to use the teeth to chew hard food, such as apples, pears and other hard fruits, chewing bones, not to mention the nuts and other food to eat very carefully, not to damage the aligners. In short, that is, anything can be eaten, but pay attention to the way you eat, that is, there can be no gnawing action; just cut the hard fruit into small pieces, pick the meat off the bone and send it into the mouth to chew and eat it. There is also to try to avoid eating sticky foods such as rice cakes and dumplings, because they stick to the teeth and orthodontic appliances are not easy to clean and can lead to inflammation of the gums. Because wearing aligners affects oral hygiene afterwards, patients are required to brush their teeth after each meal and for no less than five minutes each time. That is, if your child goes to school and eats at school, you will have to prepare your own set of dental appliances and brush your teeth at school at noon. Rinsing is not a substitute for brushing, so try not to eat snacks. It is important to maintain good oral hygiene throughout the orthodontic treatment period. The first few days of wearing the aligners may have varying degrees of pain in the teeth, and the degree of pain varies from person to person. Some people have more pronounced pain, others have less. Of course, there are those who have severe pain and those who do not feel it at all, and these cases are very rare. Most people experience the pain as if they had something in their teeth, a kind of swelling and discomfort, which is not particularly painful and can be tolerated. In general, the pain level is normally distributed. If the pain persists for more than a week, please seek medical attention.
