Can I have a dog when I’m pregnant or not

Try not to have a dog during pregnancy, and also not to have other pets. There is no absolute statement on whether you can keep a dog during pregnancy or not, and there are different opinions depending on the individual’s perception of the issue. But what is certain is that if you have a dog during pregnancy, you may be infected with pathogens such as Toxoplasma gondii if your personal hygiene habits are not good or your dog’s disease precautions are not in place. Toxoplasma gondii infection in pregnant women is a pathogenic factor that seriously endangers the health of mother and child and may lead to various abnormal pregnancy outcomes such as abnormal fetal development in the uterus, miscarriage and stillbirth. Moreover, rabies vaccination is required if a dog bite or scratch is accidentally received. Although rabies vaccination has no definite adverse effects on embryonic development, it is best to avoid it for the duration of safety.
