The amount of insulin injected varies greatly among individuals and is related to body weight, sensitivity to insulin, the presence of insulin resistance, and insulin secretion by pancreatic B cells. The general initial dose is 0.5-1U/kg/d, of which 40%-50% of the whole day dose is used to provide basal insulin, and the remaining part can be used before each meal respectively, or you can choose 2 times/day premixed insulin or premixed insulin analogues, or 3 times/day premixed insulin-like food, equally distributed before each meal, and adjust the insulin dose every 2-3 days according to the level of blood sugar until the standard of blood glucose control is reached. If patients with better control of diet and exercise, the insulin dosage will be reduced, otherwise the insulin dosage will be increased.
