Can drinking white wine cause gout?

Drinking white wine will increase the incidence of gout and may induce an acute attack of gout.
Gout is a group of metabolic diseases caused by purine metabolism disorders and/or uric acid excretion disorders, and its attack is based on hyperuricemia, and its generating mechanism mainly includes increased uric acid production and decreased uric acid excretion. Clinical features include elevated blood uric acid, recurrent acute arthritis, and gouty stones.
Alcohol consumption can increase the breakdown of hepatic ATP and promote the formation of uric acid. It can also block the secretion of uric acid from the renal tubules and reduce the excretion of uric acid. So drinking white wine can lead to elevated blood uric acid levels, increasing the chances of gout and possibly inducing an acute attack of gouty arthritis.
So patients with hyperuricemia or gout should quit drinking, go to the hospital, and standardize the diagnosis and treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
