What causes high white blood cell mononuclear cells

Monocyte is a kind of white blood cells, there are many reasons for high leukocyte monocyte, which are physiological elevation, drug factors, infectious diseases, leukemia, malignant tumors and so on.
1. Physiological elevation: during pregnancy, strenuous exercise, high temperature and cold, emotional excitement and other circumstances may cause a transient increase in white blood cells, which will be relieved by itself.
2. Drug factors: some drugs may cause white blood cell elevation after taking such as glucocorticoids, erythromycin, cephalosporin, etc..
3. Infectious diseases: abscess, purulent meningitis, encephalitis B, measles and so on can cause white blood cell elevation. Subacute bacterial endocarditis, tuberculosis, typhoid fever, malaria, recovery from acute infectious diseases and recovery from granulocyte deficiency will show elevated monocytes.
4. Leukemia: acute granulocytic leukemia (M1, M2), acute promyelocytic leukemia, chronic granulocytic leukemia will have elevated white blood cells, while acute granulocytic leukemia (M4) will have elevated monocytes.
5. Malignant tumors: cancerous tissues of liver cancer, gastric cancer and other malignant tumors can produce granulocyte growth factor, and its necrotic decomposition products stimulate granulocytes in bone marrow to be released into the blood, resulting in elevated leukocyte count.
There may be other reasons for high leukocyte mononuclear cells, so it is recommended to consult a doctor in time to clarify the reasons for targeted treatment.
