Is back pain a novel coronavirus infection?

Back pain is not necessarily a novel coronavirus infection. There are many diseases that cause back pain, such as lumbar strain, cervical spondylosis, frozen shoulder, etc. The diagnosis of novel coronavirus infection cannot be confirmed by back pain alone. The main manifestations of novel coronavirus pneumonia are fever, dry cough, and malaise, with a few patients having symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, myalgia, and diarrhea. Suspected cases of novel coronavirus pneumonia are judged by diagnostic criteria based on the epidemiological history of novel coronavirus pneumonia, clinical symptoms, blood tests, and lung CT. The criteria for suspected cases are met before nucleic acid testing, antibody determination and gene sequencing are performed to finally confirm the diagnosis, and the diagnosis of novel coronavirus infection cannot be made solely on the basis of back pain.
