The majority of lumbar disc herniations are degenerative changes in the nucleus pulposus and the fibrous ring of the lumbar intervertebral disc, with herniated nucleus pulposus and fractured fibrous ring. The main reason is that drugs cannot make the nucleus pulposus return to the nucleus pulposus or make the fibrous ring heal again. It needs to be cured by comprehensive treatment, such as bed rest, lumbar traction, lumbar ultrashort wave therapy, etc. At the same time, together with the functional training of lumbar back muscles, most of the early lumbar disc herniation can be cured. Late stage lumbar disc herniation is difficult to be cured even with the above treatments, and usually requires surgery to remove the herniated nucleus pulposus tissue, which can completely release the disc compression.
