How many days to recover from otolith repositioning

It is not possible to generalize about how many days it takes to recover from otolith repositioning. Otolithiasis is a transient vertigo induced by head movement to a specific position and is inherently self-limiting. Whether otolith repositioning has a definite efficacy is highly debated. Self-healing without treatment has been observed in 50% of cases. In untreated cases, spontaneous recovery after 1 month was 89%. The effectiveness of various repositioning treatments ranged from 44% to 100%. The effective rate of multiple treatments accounted for 1/3 of the patients, and the recurrence rate was 0% to 30%. In long-term follow-up observation, the recurrence rate was 26.8% at 26 months of treatment and 50% at 40 months, i.e., about 15% per year. The treatment efficiency cannot exclude spontaneous remission cases. Otolithosis patients usually avoid sudden sitting up, lying down, head turning, nodding, shaking the head and other actions, when the vertigo attack, should be slow to sit down or lie down to avoid falling, the disease attack should be combined with work and rest, to ensure a good night’s sleep, avoid staying up all night, and usually should also quit smoking and alcohol. Otolithosis should go to the hospital in time for examination, follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment, and if there is any discomfort, you need to actively follow up.
