Aldosterone normal range

The normal value of aldosterone is 138~415 pmol/L in standing condition and 28~138 pmol/L in prone condition.Different hospitals and different test standard ranges may be different, it is recommended to refer to the hospital of consultation. Aldosterone is a hormone that regulates blood volume, which can maintain the water-sodium balance in the body and mainly secretes renin and angiotensin. When the body’s aldosterone secretion increased, need to rule out the existence of primary aldosteronism. Patients with primary aldosteronism need to undergo a CT examination of the adrenal glands to determine whether there is an adrenal adenoma or adrenal hyperplasia. Unilateral adrenal hyperplasia resulting in primary aldosteronism requires surgical removal, while bilateral cases can be treated with oral spironolactone to lower blood pressure. Patients with abnormal aldosterone levels are advised to consult the hospital in a timely manner to complete the relevant examinations, to clarify the cause of the disease, and to take reasonable treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
