Don’t “accommodate” a mild herniated disc

Do not “accommodate” the slight protrusion of the intervertebral disc Some patients who have “lumbar disc herniation” went to many hospitals and had many examinations, CT and MRI showed only a slight protrusion of the intervertebral disc, the doctors thought that the problem was not serious and recommended conservative treatment; As a result, they ate a lot of drugs, gave a lot of injections, did traction, and did massage and physical therapy, but the effect was not good. In fact, this type of patient has a special case, although the disc herniation is not serious, but the patient often combined with congenital or acquired lateral saphenous fossa stenosis or nerve root variation (which is difficult to screen clinically), the nerve root does not have much compensation space in this zone, so even a slight herniation can cause obvious symptoms. Moreover, it is difficult to obtain good results with conservative treatment of this compression without compensatory space. For this “stubborn” condition, which is not a major problem, we chose to treat it aggressively by using a small incision to remove the nucleus pulposus and enlarge the lateral saphenous fossa, and achieved very good results. After a week, the patient was able to go to work normally.
