What’s with the hiccups?

Children hiccups all the time, mainly due to spasm of the diaphragm, are considered to be related to physiological and pathological factors. For example, eating too fast, inhaling cool air, indigestion, encephalitis and so on. 1. Physiological factors (1) Eating too fast: when children eat too fast, they may swallow a lot of air, which will cause the stomach to be obviously distended, and will affect the diaphragm, resulting in diaphragmatic spasm, which is manifested as hiccups. (2) Inhalation of cold air: small children may be cold in the abdomen or ingest cold food, which will stimulate the diaphragm spasm, and thus hiccups will occur. 2. Pathological factors (1) Indigestion: small children may have hiccups because of indigestion factors when they overeat, stomach peristalsis slows down and food accumulates in the intestines, which produces a lot of gas, so small children may have hiccups. (2) Encephalitis: some children may suffer from encephalitis at the same time, because the pathogen through the blood-brain barrier, the role of the central nervous system, the central nervous system is infected, may cause diaphragmatic spasm hiccups. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy.
