What does high ldl mean?

LDL refers to low-density lipoprotein in lipid biochemistry test report, and a high LDL means that the low-density lipoprotein is increased, which is an important indicator for early identification of atherosclerosis.

In the clinical examination of blood lipids generally include cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein, high-density lipoprotein. Among them, LDL can carry cholesterol out of the liver and set it on the arterial wall, leading to arterial narrowing and atherosclerosis, which shows that its increase is positively proportional to the occurrence of coronary heart disease.

In addition to the above reasons, hereditary hyperlipoproteinemia, hypothyroidism, kidney disease, obesity and other factors can also lead to high ldl.

When ldl is found to be high, further examination or standardized treatment should be carried out under the guidance of a doctor.
