What is the cause of normal cystatin C and blood creatinine 128 μmol/L?

Normal cystatin C and blood creatinine 128 μmol/L is elevated creatinine. It may be due to physiological factors such as large amount of meat consumption, excessive sweating, low water intake, etc., which usually can be relieved after removing the causative factors; it may also be due to pathologic factors such as acute and chronic renal failure, acute and chronic glomerulonephritis, IgA nephropathy, diabetic nephropathy, hypertension nephropathy and so on. Cystatin C is a cystine metabolite in the body, creatinine is a product of human metabolism, both are mainly excreted through the kidneys, in which cystatin C is more sensitive than creatinine in the early stage of renal impairment, and usually rises before creatinine rises. Cystatin C is characterized by being relatively stable, excreted through the kidneys, and is basically unaffected by factors such as diet, emotion, and gender. Normal cystatin C and elevated creatinine is usually seen with physiologic factors such as heavy meat consumption, excessive sweating, and low water intake, and usually resolves when the trigger is removed. Normal cystatin C and elevated creatinine may also be seen in acute and chronic renal failure, acute and chronic glomerulonephritis, IgA nephropathy, diabetic nephropathy, hypertensive nephropathy, lupus nephritis, membranous nephropathy and other pathologic factors. If abnormal blood creatinine is found, it is recommended that the patient should consult a doctor in time to find out the cause and follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the diagnosis and treatment.
