Nimodipine instructions state that the adverse effects of this product include decreased blood pressure, hepatitis, skin tingling, gastrointestinal bleeding, thrombocytopenia, transient dizziness, flushing, headache, vomiting, gastrointestinal upset, elevated platelet count, elevated alkaline phosphatase and lactate dehydrogenase, and elevated blood glucose. However, the above effects of nimodipine in humans are not gender-specific and can occur in both men and women. Nimodipine inhibits smooth muscle contraction and relieves vasospasm. It is used to improve blood circulation during the recovery period of acute cerebrovascular disease, as well as cerebral vasospasm caused by subarachnoid space hemorrhage. Contraindications to this product are unclear and should be used under medical supervision.
