How to treat Liver Depression, Spleen Deficiency, Upper Heat, Lower Cold

Liver depression and spleen deficiency, upper heat and lower cold need to be treated by dredging the liver and strengthening the spleen, and drawing fire downward, which can be treated with the Chinese herbs of Free San with Niuhui and Cinnamon.
It is composed of Chai Hu, Angelica Sinensis, Paeonia lactiflora, Mentha piperita, Poria, Atractylodes macrocephala, simmered ginger and jujube. It is effective in harmonizing the liver and spleen, relieving liver depression, nourishing blood and strengthening the spleen. Indications of liver depression, blood deficiency and spleen weakness include pain in both hypochondriacs, headache and dizziness, dry mouth and throat, fatigue (lack of spirit), poor appetite, or irregular menstruation, breast distension and pain, and stringy and weak pulse.
Contraindications, precautions and adverse reactions are not clear.
Cow’s Knee has the functions of expelling blood stasis and clearing menstruation (removing blood stasis and dredging the meridians), tonifying the liver and kidney, strengthening the muscles and bones, inducing diuresis and diuresis (improving the problem of dribbling in the urine and urinating in small amounts), and inducing blood to flow downward (promoting the downward movement of blood).
It is used in treating menorrhagia, dysmenorrhea, lumbar and knee pain, weakness of muscles and bones, toothache, day sores, vomiting of blood and epistaxis. It should be used with caution in pregnant women; contraindications and adverse reactions are not clear.
Cinnamon has the effects of tonifying fire and assisting yang, inducing fire to return to the source (inhibiting the rising of fire evil in the kidneys), dispersing cold, relieving pain and warming the meridians. It is used in treating impotence and coldness in the uterus, cold pain in the waist and knees, asthma due to kidney deficiency, deficiency of yang (relative deficiency of yang affecting the head and face), and dizziness and redness of the eyes. Pregnant women should be cautious of using it, and it should not be used with red stone resin, the adverse effects of which are not yet clear.
