What causes hiccups after eating?

Hiccups after eating are mostly caused by digestive disorders, common physiological factors, reflux esophagitis, chronic gastritis and so on.
1. Physiological factors: due to eating a lot of food in a short time, air mixed with food enters the body and can be discharged through burping after meals.
2. Reflux esophagitis: Due to the decrease of anti-reflux function of the esophagus, weakening of the defense barrier of the esophageal mucosa, abnormal sensation of the esophagus, delayed gastric emptying, etc., the contents of the stomach or the duodenum reflux into the esophagus, stimulating the esophagus and causing hiccups. It mostly occurs after a full meal. It can also be accompanied by reflux, heartburn, hiccups and other symptoms.
3. Chronic gastritis: no obvious symptoms, indigestion, acid reflux and hiccups as the main manifestations, which may be caused by insufficient gastrointestinal tract dynamics, bacterial imbalance and other combined effects. Chronic gastritis patients with gastric mucous membrane irritation caused by gastrospasm, stimulate gastrointestinal peristalsis after persistent or intermittent hiccups.
Hiccups may have other causes such as indigestion, etc. If the symptoms are severe or other uncomfortable symptoms occur, you should seek medical attention.
