Is hemoglobin 176 normal?

A hemoglobin of 176g/L is abnormal and is a sign of increased hemoglobin.
The normal range of hemoglobin for adult males and females are different, 120~160g/L for adult males and 110~150g/L for adult females, so both males and females with hemoglobin of 176g/L are higher than the upper limit of normal value, so it is an abnormal manifestation.
Red blood cell counts are also significantly higher in patients with elevated hemoglobin, so blood viscosity is significantly higher and blood flow slows down in patients with significantly elevated hemoglobin. Causes of elevated hemoglobin include true erythrocytosis, extensive burns, severe vomiting or diarrhea, and prolonged exposure to high altitude environments.
It is recommended that patients with a hemoglobin of 176g/L should go to the hematology department in a timely manner to complete bone marrow aspiration and MPN gene testing to determine the specific cause of the disease, and to have targeted treatment.
