Preparation before orthodontic treatment

The orthodontic process is the movement of teeth in the alveolar bone, which involves bone remodeling and requires a healthy periodontal environment. Before orthodontic treatment is carried out, first of all, periodontal examination should be carried out. If there is gingivitis or periodontitis, periodontal related treatment will be required. If the periodontal tissues are healthy, the dental tissues must also be looked at, and any diseases such as caries, apical inflammation or chronic pulpitis must be treated beforehand. Before orthodontic treatment, the teeth must be healthy or adequately treated. Secondly, before orthodontic treatment, as orthodontic program design is required, the patient has to undergo a series of pre-orthodontic examinations, such as taking X-ray examination and mold taking examination. The collection of preoperative information is mainly used for postoperative comparison and preoperative diagnosis, such as the skeletal relationship to the teeth, teeth to teeth relationship determination, and program design, such as how to move the teeth, need to be coordinated with the skeletal relationship, (dentition) relationship, and so on. Therefore, in addition to the examination and treatment of periodontal and dental tissues before treatment, there is also a pre-orthodontic examination.
