Diltiazem Effects and Side Effects

Diltiazem has the effect of treating exertional angina pectoris and other diseases; adverse reactions such as swelling and headache may occur in the use of the drug. Diltiazem is a calcium ion blocker, which can dilate blood vessels as well as prolong atrioventricular node conduction, thus realizing the effects of lowering blood pressure, controlling arrhythmia, and treating angina pectoris, etc. It is commonly used clinically in the treatment of supraventricular tachycardia. It is commonly used in the treatment of supraventricular tachycardia, hypertensive urgency, unstable angina and other diseases. Adverse reactions such as bradycardia, hypotension, atrioventricular block, severe bradycardia, dizziness, headache, facial fever, and facial flushing may occur with the use of this drug, and it is recommended to discontinue use of the medication and seek medical attention promptly. The use of the drug is contraindicated in cases of severe hypotension, cardiogenic shock, high degree of atrioventricular block, sick sinus syndrome, patients with severe congestive heart failure, patients with severe cardiomyopathy, pregnancy or possible pregnancy. Diltiazem should be administered under the supervision of a clinician.
