Where does tongue cancer usually grow?

Tongue cancer is one of the common oral malignant tumors, accounting for about 1/3-1/2 of oral cancers. More than 80% of tongue cancers occur in the lateral margins of the tongue movable part, especially the posterior margins, and a few of tongue cancers can occur on the back of the tongue, and some tongue cancers can grow on the tip of the tongue, and the incidence of tongue cancer in the movable part of the tongue is about three times of the incidence of tongue cancer in the root of the tongue. Tongue cancer usually grows locally invasive along the course of tongue muscle, and the incidence rate of men is higher than that of women, and it is usually found in adults aged 50-70 years old. Tongue cancer is usually characterized by local invasion and lymph node metastasis, and the most common is the metastasis to the lymph nodes in the neck. At present, the treatment of tongue cancer in the early stage of clinical practice is mainly based on surgical treatment, while in the middle and late stages, the comprehensive treatment is based on surgical treatment and radiotherapy.
