Large amounts of this product may cause adverse reactions such as peptic ulcers, diabetes mellitus, Cushing-like syndrome symptoms, suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, and concurrent infections. It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to this product and adrenocorticotropic hormone analogs, and in those with fungal and viral infections.
