What are the adverse effects of interferon and how to deal with them?

After the injection of interferon, a small number of patients will experience adverse reactions such as fever, body weakness, muscle pain, dizziness and headache. Interferon has antiviral, immune regulation, anti-tumor effects, and is mainly used in the treatment of melanoma, breast cancer, multiple myeloma, viral hepatitis C and other diseases. If there are adverse reactions such as weakness, dizziness and muscle pain after interferon injection, patients with mild symptoms do not need to undergo special treatment, and the uncomfortable symptoms will usually disappear gradually after keeping quiet.
If fever occurs after using the drug, you can use a hot towel to wipe the body to promote fever reduction. If the body temperature exceeds 38.5 ℃, reaching a high fever state, you can follow the doctor’s advice to take oral compound aspirin, ibuprofen and other antipyretic drugs treatment. If allergic to interferon, the drug should not be used.
