What is the irregular shape of the lymph nodes?

Irregular shape of lymph nodes may be the result of malignant changes in lymph nodes. Lymph nodes belong to the body’s immune organs, the shape of normal lymph nodes itself is different, most of them are round or oval, if the lymph nodes are enlarged and the edges are irregular, in irregular shape, this situation is mostly considered that the lymph nodes undergo malignant lesions, such as lymphoma, lymphoblastic leukemia, malignant tumors lymphatic metastasis and so on. When inflammation or cancer occurs in local tissues, it will cause morphological changes of lymph nodes. In the surface lymph nodes, you can touch the lymph nodes to see that they are enlarged, hard, without obvious tenderness, and with poor mobility. However, when the deep lymph nodes are not easy to be found on the surface of the body, ultrasound examination can often be used to find out whether they are abnormal or not. There are many reasons for lymph node enlargement, such as lymph node inflammation, connective tissue disease, etc. Lymph nodes are generally regular in shape except for enlargement, but further biopsy is needed to make a clear diagnosis, and then appropriate treatment will be taken according to the doctor’s instructions.
