What is a tumor of the liver?

Liver tumors are mainly tumor lesions that occur in the liver area. The liver is one of the preferred sites for tumors, benign ones are particularly rare, malignant ones are more common, and the distinction between primary and metastatic ones is also considered in the middle of malignancy. Primary hepatocellular carcinoma can occur in hepatocellular cords, bile duct epithelium, blood vessels and other mesodermal tissues. Most metastatic tumors are mostly in the gastrointestinal tract, breast, more metastatic lung cancer, and a few are metastatic sarcomas. The difference between benign tumor and malignant tumor: 1. Growth pattern: benign tumor has clearer boundary, most of them have envelope formation, and they are usually reviewed regularly and will not grow. Malignant tumors are infiltrative growth, destructive growth, unclear boundary, no envelope; 2. Growth rate: benign tumors are especially slow, malignant tumors generally grow especially fast and often accompanied by necrosis, ulceration and other inflammatory reactions; 3. benign tumors generally do not recur after surgery, malignant tumors are easy to recur after surgery; 4. benign tumors do not metastasize, malignant tumors can go through blood and lymphatic vessels and transfer to The differentiation of benign tumor cells is close to that of normal tissues, while malignant tumor cells have different degrees of differentiation and often show different degrees of interstitial changes, and the tissue structure is different from the original normal tissues; 6. In terms of impact on human body, benign tumor is mainly compressed, if the lesion, such as hepatic hemangioma, is particularly small, there is usually no symptom and cannot be found without physical examination. Malignant tumors generally grow rapidly and can show local compression, often destroying and infiltrating adjacent organs and tissues, causing bleeding, inflammatory reaction, low fever and rupture, and at the same time can metastasize distantly, causing cachexia in the body and a significant decrease in nutritional status, usually accompanied by symptoms such as wasting and anemia. According to the tissue origin, benign tumors are mostly seen as adenomas of liver vessels, adenomas of liver duct cells, hemangiomas, malignant tumors, etc. Other benign mesodermal tumors are also seen, such as fibroids, lipomas, mixed tumors, etc. Malignant tumors are firstly considered as primary hepatocellular carcinoma, bile duct cell carcinoma, adrenal residual carcinoma, hemangiosarcoma, and some other metastatic tumors, most of which can be transferred to the liver through blood.
