Rifapentine capsule acts for the treatment of tuberculosis. The drug is a semi-synthetic broad-spectrum bactericide with strong antibacterial activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis in vitro. Its mechanism of action is to bind firmly to the subunit of DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, inhibit bacterial RNA synthesis, prevent the enzyme from connecting with DNA, thus blocking the RNA transcription process and stopping DNA and protein synthesis. Adverse reactions such as dizziness, insomnia, and rash have been observed with the drug. It is prohibited for those who are allergic to this product or rifamycin antimicrobials; it is prohibited for those with severe hepatic insufficiency, biliary tract obstruction and pregnant women.
