Gastric cancer is mainly staged according to TNM staging method, if the gastric cancer invades into the plasma membrane layer without distant metastasis, it usually belongs to stage IIA and IIB.
According to TNM staging method, T represents the depth of infiltration of the primary tumor into the stomach wall, N represents the presence or absence of lymph node metastasis, and M represents the presence or absence of distant metastasis of the tumor. If the tumor invades the subplasma membrane connective tissues but does not invade into the abdominal cavity or other neighboring organs, does not have lymph node metastasis, and does not have distant metastasis of the tumor, it generally belongs to Stage ⅡA or Stage ⅡB.
If the tumor invades the plasma membrane without lymph node metastasis or distant tumor metastasis, the disease is generally in stage IIB. In a word, if the tumor invades the subplasma connective tissue or the plasma membrane layer without lymph node metastasis or distant tumor metastasis, the disease is generally in stage IIA or IIB, and it is recommended that the patients should consult the doctor in time and cooperate with the treatment to prolong their survival.
